The crossing to Saint-Nicolas, the archipelago's main island, takes about an hour from Bénodet and offers a stunning maritime spectacle. The ferries serve the archipelago from April to September, with daily departures in high season. A day on the Glénan allows visitors to enjoy the paradise beaches, snorkel in the crystal-clear waters and discover the protected wildlife and flora.
Cruises on the Odet
Alongside the Glénan service, Vedettes de l'Odet offer guided cruises on the Odet, a winding coastal river lined with chateaux, manor houses and lush vegetation. The 16-kilometre journey up the Odet from Bénodet to Quimper is a unique experience for discovering the landscapes of southern Finistère from the water.
Booking and tips
Tickets are available online, by phone and at the departure port ticket offices. Booking is strongly recommended in July-August as places are limited and crossings very popular. It is advisable to bring water, sunscreen and a picnic as dining options on the Glénan are very limited. Crossings depend on weather conditions and may be cancelled in rough seas.
