BreizhGo Océane
The leading maritime company in Morbihan, BreizhGo Océane serves Belle-Île, Groix, Houat and Hoëdic from Quiberon and Lorient with 1.4 million passengers per year.
The giant of the Morbihan islands
BreizhGo Océane, the Brittany Region's maritime brand for the Morbihan islands within the BreizhGo network (known as Compagnie Océane until 1 January 2025), is the leading ferry operator in the area. Carrying 1.4 million passengers each year, it provides a vital and continuous service to Belle-Île-en-Mer, Île de Groix, Houat and Hoëdic. It is the largest island ferry operator on the French Atlantic coast.
A modern and powerful fleet
The BreizhGo Océane fleet comprises six major vessels, including the Bangor and Vindilis (450 passengers each) on the Belle-Île route, and the Île de Groix (400 passengers) on the Groix route. The Kerdonis and Melvan handle rotations to Houat and Hoëdic. These car ferries allow vehicle boarding on the Belle-Île and Groix routes, facilitating island supply and extended stays.
Routes from Quiberon and Lorient
BreizhGo Océane operates mainly from two ports: Quiberon (Port-Maria ferry terminal) for Belle-Île (45 minutes), Houat (40 minutes) and Hoëdic (1h15); and Lorient (ferry terminal) for Île de Groix (45 minutes). In peak season, departure frequency is considerably increased, with up to 10 daily rotations to Belle-Île.
Booking and practical advice
Booking is essential in summer, especially for vehicles as the number of spaces is limited. Tickets are available on the BreizhGo website, by phone and at ticket offices. Fares, subsidised by the Brittany Region, remain affordable. Discounts are available for children, large families and KorriGo card holders. For Belle-Île, booking your vehicle several weeks ahead in July-August is recommended.
